Embracing the Tranquility of Fall

There’s something magical about the fall season that captivates the heart of every nature lover. The crisp air, the scent of fallen leaves, and the vibrant colors paint the landscape making fall the perfect time for outdoor adventures. The Horse-shoe Trail just north of French Creek State Park offers a hiking experience that combines the beauty of autumn with the serenity of being on a forest trail.

After a short time on the Horse-shoe trail, we headed north to a hidden gem – the Birdsboro Reservoir is a peaceful lake surrounded by the forest. What makes this reservoir even more enticing is the exclusivity – accessible only by trail, ensuring that the tranquility remained undisturbed by the noise of cars or everyday life.

As the sun started to sink, we headed back catching the Horse-shoe trail further west then were we left it. The weather forecast for the following day called for rain. When a cloud blocked the sun and the forest got a little darker, it really felt like rain was on the way. It felt great to get out on such a beautiful day knowing that tomorrow would turn sour.
